Las Vegas police find missing woman in freezer as guest faces murder charges
Las Vegas police discovered the body of Monique Gilbertson, 68, in a chest freezer during a welfare check on November 6. She had been missing for two weeks. Her house guest, Danial Roush, was allegedly involved in her death. Roush, a transgender woman, was reportedly trying to avoid eviction when police arrived. She claimed Gilbertson had collapsed and that she panicked, placing her in the freezer. Prosecutors allege Roush caused Gilbertson's death by administering a lethal dose of fentanyl. Roush has been charged with second-degree murder. Her wife, Gina Lopez, was arrested on drug charges but not for murder. Gilbertson had invited Roush to stay temporarily but later sought to evict her due to concerns about her living conditions.
