Las Vegas heat deaths surpass 100 this year

Las Vegas has reported 123 heat-related deaths this year, a significant rise from 63 at the end of July. The city experienced record temperatures, reaching 120 degrees, exacerbated by climate change. The median age of the deceased is 68, with the youngest being 25. Last year, heat-related deaths totaled 309, an 80% increase from 169 in 2021. The coroner's office continues to investigate additional cases.
