Lando Norris says McLaren contract was 'easiest' to sign despite other options

Lando Norris has revealed he considered other opportunities before signing a new contract to stay with McLaren until at least the end of 2030, calling the decision the "easiest contract" he has had to sign. The 26-year-old, who has won the last two Formula 1 races, said he valued the "strong" team leadership and personal happiness over chasing instant success with another outfit. He acknowledged that while other options existed, some were "gambles" he was not willing to take. Norris currently trails championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 83 points, with Antonelli facing grid penalties at this weekend's Italian Grand Prix. When asked about a potential future move to Ferrari, Norris said he is not thinking about it now, but added "ask me again at the end of 2030."
