Kushinagar: A dispute over the Chhitauni municipality has escalated, with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate recording statements from councilors and the chairperson. Councilors boycotted a board meeting, demanding an investigation into alleged corruption and the absence of the Executive Officer. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate visited the municipality to record statements. The councilors accuse the Executive Officer of negligence and corruption, demanding the appointment of permanent staff. The District Magistrate has ordered an inquiry.
