Kurnool district to construct 8,500 farm ponds
Kurnool district is set to see the construction of 8,500 farm ponds. This initiative is part of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) scheme. Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan will visit Kurnool on March 22 to start the project. He will perform a ceremony called 'Bhumi puja' at Pudicherla village. This marks the beginning of a larger effort to build two lakh farm ponds across the state by June. District Collector P. Ranjith Basha shared details about the project. He emphasized the importance of the event and instructed officials to prepare accordingly. The arrangements for the puja and a public gathering must be finished by the evening of March 21. Kurnool Revenue Divisional Officer Sandeep has been assigned to oversee the event preparations. Pawan Kalyan's visit is expected to bring attention to rural development in the area.
