Kroger cuts 200 jobs in downtown 84.51 division
Kroger is cutting about 200 jobs at its downtown 84.51 data analytics division as it restructures its e-commerce functions. This follows a previous round of job cuts affecting the same number of employees in February. The company announced the creation of a new e-commerce business unit on March 11, led by Chief Digital Officer Yael Cosset. It is unclear if this new unit is directly causing the job cuts. These layoffs come after Kroger's interim CEO Ron Sargent took over on March 3, following the resignation of longtime CEO Rodney McMullen. Sargent stated that the company's strategic plan for 2025 was already established before his arrival.
