Kolkata to experience water supply disruption on January 18 for maintenance work

Kolkata will experience a water supply disruption on January 18 due to maintenance at the Garden Reach Water Treatment Plant. The plant will be closed for repairs, with normal service resuming the next morning. Several areas in south Kolkata will be affected, including Parnasree, Chetla, and Behala Daspara. Residents will receive no water throughout the day, except for an initial supply at 6 am. The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has scheduled this work during winter when water demand is lower. Residents are advised to conserve water during the disruption.
