Knicks declined Vince Carter trade due to injury concerns

James Dolan, the Knicks executive chairman, revealed that the team nearly traded for Vince Carter. However, the Knicks' medical team advised against it due to concerns about Carter's severely injured Achilles tendon. Dolan noted that the decision was based on the belief that Carter would not recover fully. He humorously remarked on how Carter went on to have a successful career despite the injury concerns. Carter was eventually traded to the New Jersey Nets in 2004, where he became a franchise star. The Nets retired his No. 15 jersey earlier this year.
