Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa approves free e-scooters for women

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has granted in-principle approval to provide free electric scooters to female students and working women, directing authorities to launch the initiative immediately. The project aims to empower women by offering safe, convenient, and dignified transport to educational institutions and workplaces, addressing transportation difficulties that often create obstacles. Afridi ordered transparent implementation, including a steering committee, technical working group, and grievance redressal committee, with complete funding ensured. The environmentally friendly scooters are intended to promote women's economic independence and reduce air pollution. The chief minister stated the move aligns with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan's vision for women's development and empowerment.
