Kerala school science festival: What students should know

Kerala's school science festival emphasizes genuine scientific inquiry over elaborate displays, with success depending on identifying problems, observing, testing, and proposing community-beneficial solutions. The event is divided into categories for LP, UP, High School, and Higher Secondary levels, with varying participation limits and competition scopes. Projects are evaluated out of 100 marks, prioritizing scientific concept (25), presentation and viva (20), and project report (20), while novelty, initiative, and utility to society receive 15, 10, and 10 marks respectively. For younger students, environment observation presentations require a personal diary, with 60 of 100 marks allocated to scientific approach and the diary itself. Additional competitions for senior students include science drama, handwritten science magazine creation, the C.V.
