Kerala plans NEP strategy with Tamil Nadu

Kerala's Education Minister will meet with his Tamil Nadu counterpart to strategize against the central government's National Education Policy (NEP). The meeting aims to protect states' rights in education. The Kerala government is seeking legal recourse against the Union government's withholding of ₹1,500.27 crore in education funds, linked to implementing the NEP. Preliminary discussions have already occurred with Tamil Nadu, which shares similar concerns. The Supreme Court recently ruled that states cannot be compelled to adopt the NEP. Kerala had previously communicated its concerns to the Union government, but funds remain withheld, prompting legal action.
