Kenyan musician Vema uses Chevening Scholarship to advance East African music internationally

Kenyan musician Vema has won a prestigious UK Chevening Scholarship, enabling him to pursue a Master's degree and showcase East African music internationally. Vema, formerly Douglas Ogutu, is studying Music Business at Nottingham Trent University, focusing on music's role in African development. He will headline an EP launch in London on May 14. His journey began with street performances in Nakuru, Kenya, and has since included shows in Italy, Ghana, and South Africa, demonstrating the power of talent and persistence.
