Kentucky school held graduation for student in hospital
A Kentucky high school student awaiting a heart transplant received his diploma in a hospital ceremony after missing his graduation. The school brought the graduation to him. Landen Lester, 18, who has a ventricular assist device, José, due to dilated cardiomyopathy, celebrated his graduation at Norton Children's Hospital. His school, Cloverport Independent, organized the event with family, friends, and hospital staff. The ceremony included a diploma presentation, photos, and a visit from his classmates. Landen, who will attend Murray State for electrical engineering, is awaiting a heart transplant and is connected to José, his life-saving device.
