Kenardo Forbes retires, transitioning to coaching role

Kenardo Forbes, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds' captain and all-time leader in matches played, has announced his retirement at age 36. He will move into a coaching role with the team after a decade-long career in the USL Championship. Forbes played 226 matches for the Riverhounds since joining in 2018, leading the team in career assists with 55. He also holds records for the most regular-season assists, matches played, and total minutes in USL Championship history. The Riverhounds will honor Forbes with a pregame ceremony on March 22 before their home opener against Hartford Athletic. He previously won a championship with the Rochester Rhinos in 2015 and earned USL All-League honors seven times.
