Kaufland introduces 8,000 self-checkout stations nationwide

Kaufland is installing 8,000 self-checkout stations across Germany to speed up customer payments. This expansion will occur in approximately 780 stores, with over 220 markets planned for new self-checkout systems in 2026. Customers can pay with cash, card, or app. Kaufland is also enhancing its digital K-Scan system, allowing customers to scan items with handheld scanners or smartphones while shopping.
