Katie Miller hid $1M stake in Musk's xAI while attacking rival chatbots
Katie Miller, a MAGA podcaster and wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, has been exposed for holding over $1 million in Elon Musk’s xAI chatbot while failing to disclose the stake during her frequent criticism of rival AI models. The Washington Post revealed Miller’s financial interest, which she never mentioned despite making nearly 500 posts denouncing competitors like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini as biased or dangerous. She denied any conflict of interest, saying she posts “for the love of the game,” and acquired the stock on Dec. 19, 2025. Miller, a former aide in Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, began a consulting role with xAI in August 2025 and had Musk on her podcast before buying the stake. Legal experts suggest she may have violated Federal Trade Commission guidelines by not disclosing her financial motivation.
