Karuvatta TB clinic deteriorates from decades of neglect

The Karuvatta TB Clinic, established in 1959, is in a state of disrepair due to a lack of maintenance for three decades. The building, last renovated in 1994, has suffered roof damage from weather. While a new building for inpatient care was inaugurated in 1994, it remains unused due to a lack of staff, and the purchased beds have rusted. Locals are demanding the clinic's expansion and upgrade, noting its importance as a healthcare facility and its strategic location on the national highway for accident victims. A proposed 10 crore project for expansion was not approved.
