Karthik Subbaraj on Dorothy: Film sparks new conversations across Tamil Nadu
Director Karthik Subbaraj said his film "Dorothy" has sparked meaningful conversations and a new perspective in society, expressing happiness over the emotional response it has received across Tamil Nadu. The film, starring Rishakanth, Sananth, and Keerthy Suresh with music by Ilaiyaraaja, released on September 25 and has seen both strong support and criticism. Despite this, it has succeeded commercially, prompting the team to visit theaters in Madurai, Trichy, Theni, and Dindigul to thank fans. Subbaraj noted the film was shot largely in Madurai and Dindigul, including a well-received scene at the Dindigul bus stand. "Dorothy," meaning "gift of God," was also screened at international festivals like Toronto, where audiences reportedly stood in appreciation.
