Karl Bushby walks 36,000 miles to circumnavigate the globe on foot

Karl Bushby is nearing the end of a 27-year, 36,000-mile walk around the world, aiming to be the first to complete such a continuous journey solely on foot. His expedition began in 1998 in Chile, facing numerous challenges including visa issues, harsh weather, financial setbacks, and a temporary ban from Russia. He recently swam across the Caspian Sea to bypass Iran and Russia. Bushby is currently in Romania, approximately 2,000 miles from his goal in Hull, UK, and hopes to finish in September 2026.
