Kallar to Ponmudi route set for transformation into green corridor in Kerala

Ponmudi is being developed as an eco-friendly tourism destination under the Haritha Keralam Mission. A new campaign, "My Ponmudi Clean Ponmudi," aims to monitor and manage waste to ensure environmental sustainability. The district administration plans to transform the Kallar to Ponmudi route into a green corridor, with an official announcement expected by the end of January. Cleaning activities have already begun, involving various local agencies and community members. Recent efforts included cleaning eight sections of the area, where 112 sacks of non-biodegradable waste were collected. The cleanliness of Ponmudi will be evaluated every two months to maintain its eco-friendly status.
