Jules Spinatsch's Quest for Truth in Photography

Swiss photographer Jules Spinatsch presents his largest retrospective to date at the Grisons Art Museum in Chur, exploring contemporary questions about images and their truth. The exhibition, titled with his birth year 1964 and 2155, spans his career and features "Infinity Obsoleum," an intergenerational project begun in 2022 at Switzerland's future nuclear waste site near Zurich, involving annual hikes and photographic series. Spinatsch's work often employs significant technical means, but sometimes a simple object suffices, such as industrial rösti packets placed in the nuclear waste field as a pointed reference to a federal councilor.
