Judge calls for reformation of Cuyahoga County Jail and Justice Center steering committee

Judge John J. Russo has called for the reformation of the Executive Steering Committee for the new Cuyahoga County Jail and Justice Center. He emphasizes the need for communication and consensus among stakeholders in the planning process. Russo noted that a Memorandum of Understanding from January 2019 still provides a framework for collaboration, despite the committee's previous dissolution due to disagreements. He advocates for all voices to be heard in this taxpayer-funded project. Additionally, he suggested reestablishing the Criminal Justice Council, formed in 2018, to facilitate discussions on these projects. Russo stresses that successful design requires diplomacy and shared ideas among all impacted parties.
