JR Koumi Line train stops after driver extinguishes fire from railway tie in Yamanashi

JR Koumi Line train stopped due to smoke from a railway tie. A train driver spotted smoke from a railway tie at Kiyosato Station in Yamanashi Prefecture and stopped the train, extinguishing the fire. No injuries were reported among the 15 passengers and the driver. The incident caused a 1 hour and 35 minute suspension of service between Nobeyama and Kobuchizawa stations, affecting two trains. The cause of the smoke is under investigation.
