Josefina Castellví, a pioneer in Antarctic research and the first woman to lead a Spanish scientific base there, has died at age 90. Castellví, an oceanographer and marine biologist, was instrumental in establishing Spain's first Antarctic scientific base and was among the first Spanish women to set foot on the continent.
