Jose Mari Chan balances music with daily work at a Negros sugar company

Filipino singer Jose Mari Chan, known for his Christmas hits, says he has no off-season as he works daily for a sugar company in Negros alongside his music career. During an appearance on Melai Cantiveros' vodcast "Kuan on One," the 81-year-old said he remains busy from January to August with his corporate job. He also maintains his health through a strict diet, avoiding pork and beef, and exercises by walking for 45 minutes each morning. Chan emphasized staying healthy for his children and grandchildren. He recently performed "Christmas in Our Hearts" on GMA's "Unang Hirit" on Sept. 1 and urged Filipinos to help those affected by flooding. He is dubbed the "Father of Philippine Christmas music."
