Johor launches RTS Link project to enhance cross-border travel with Singapore
The Rapid Transit System Link (RTS Link) project in Johor is set to begin operations on January 1, 2027. It aims to improve cross-border travel between Johor Baru and Singapore, easing congestion at the busy Causeway. The RTS Link will transport up to 10,000 passengers daily and streamline immigration checks. This development is expected to enhance travel experiences for Malaysians and Singaporeans, reducing crossing times to about five minutes. Local businesses near the new stations may benefit from increased foot traffic. The project is also linked to a new economic zone agreement between Johor and Singapore, aimed at boosting trade and collaboration.
