John A. Coady, veteran and community leader, passes away at 89 in Illinois

John A. Coady, a resident of Zion, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024, at the age of 89. He was born on July 7, 1935, in Ishpeming, Michigan, and married Marlene Anderson in 1953. Coady served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and later retired from the Coast Guard as a Petty Officer 1st Class. He worked as a delivery driver after his military career and was active in several community organizations. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Private services will be held in Marquette, Michigan. Memorial donations can be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation in his honor.
