Joey Pollari joins 'American Horror Story: 13' as Ben DeSoto

Actor Joey Pollari has joined the cast of "American Horror Story: 13" as Ben DeSoto, a hospice caretaker with a pathological fear of the number 13, following his role in Ryan Murphy's "Monster: The Ed Gein Story." Pollari, 32, came out publicly in 2018 around the release of "Love, Simon," citing self-shame and societal masculinity pressures for his earlier silence. He is also a musician, having released two albums and a new single in September. His career began with Disney Channel productions before roles in "Love, Simon" and multiple Murphy projects. In the new season, his character survives a plane crash and becomes influenced by Jessica Lange's character, Constance Langdon.
