Jim Wilson forms two companies for gene therapy advancement

James Wilson, MD, PhD, will transition from his role at the University of Pennsylvania to establish two independent companies focused on gene therapy: GEMMA Biotherapeutics and Franklin Biolabs. GEMMABio will enhance research and access to therapies for rare diseases, while Franklin Biolabs will provide contract research services. Wilson's career includes three FDA-approved gene therapies and over 40 active development programs.
