Jewish woman whose baby photo Nazis used as Aryan ideal dies at 91

Hessy Levinsons Taft, a Jewish woman whose baby photo was used by Nazis to represent the ideal Aryan child, has died at 91. Her image was unknowingly entered into a competition by a photographer and later appeared on a Nazi magazine cover. Taft's parents, realizing the danger, kept her indoors. The family fled Germany in 1938, eventually settling in the United States. Taft later became a chemistry professor and shared her story to ensure remembrance.
