Jersey City honors slain detective Joseph Seals on fifth anniversary of kosher market shooting

Five years ago, on December 10, 2019, a shooting at a kosher market in Jersey City left four people dead, including Detective Joseph Seals. He was killed while confronting the attackers, who were later shot by police. The attackers, David Anderson and Francine Graham, opened fire in the JC Kosher Supermarket, killing three others: Moshe Deutsch, Leah Minda Ferencz, and Douglas Miguel Rodriguez. They had previously shot Seals in a cemetery. On the anniversary of the tragedy, the Jersey City Police Department held a ceremony at Bayview Cemetery. Family members and local officials attended, honoring Seals with fresh white roses placed on his memorial headstone.
