Jay Wheeler releases album reflecting on car crash survival

Jay Wheeler is celebrating life after surviving a serious car accident last September. On Friday, he released his new album, Girasoles, and a music video for his single "Abrázame Fuerte," which reflects on his experience. In his Instagram post, Wheeler described “Abrázame Fuerte” as one of his favorite songs from the album. He dedicated it to God, his wife, and daughter, born around the time of the crash. The video begins with scenes inspired by the accident, featuring Wheeler singing in a junkyard. The lyrics express vulnerability and a deep need for connection. Girasoles, which means "Sunflowers" in Spanish, is structured to explore different life stages. It symbolizes facing difficulties, personal growth, and finally reaching maturity. Wheeler aims to inspire listeners to evolve and show love, just like sunflowers reaching for the light. Wheeler also spoke about the creative process during a press release. He emphasized that his album is meant to resonate with fans on an emotional level, helping them relate to each track. Girasoles follows his earlier works, including last year's Música Buena Para Días Malos and TRAPPii from 2023.
