Jason Arday cancels London event after plagiarism allegations

Former Cambridge professor Jason Arday cancelled a London event; two other appearances were removed from listings after plagiarism allegations and his resignation. His Royal Geographical Society talk on 2 September was cancelled at his request; he also vanished from Edinburgh bookshop and Arizona luncheon listings. Cambridge is investigating his qualifications. He admitted early errors but denied lying, citing “unrelenting scrutiny.” His memoir “Great and Unfortunate Things” is still releasing. Arday became Cambridge’s youngest black professor in 2023; claims about his past, including a 600-mile run and £5.5m charity raising, have been questioned.
