SoftBank reported a 17.7% drop in net profit to about €1.9 billion for April-June, as rising AI computing costs offset strong investment gains. Investment profits rose to ¥1.86 trillion (€10.2 billion), including €7.3 billion from Intel, while the OpenAI stake had no impact. Vision Fund profit fell 30% to about €2.5 billion. Revenue increased 10.9% to €11.08 billion. Results exceeded market expectations, but SoftBank cited rising AI computing costs. Earlier it invested $64 billion in OpenAI, raising its stake to about 13%. It again declined to give annual forecasts due to uncertainties.
