Japanese Gulliver theme park closes after four years near infamous sites

A Japanese theme park featuring a giant Gulliver statue has permanently closed after only four years of operation. The park, inspired by Gulliver's Travels, was located near the infamous Aokigahara forest and the former headquarters of the Aum Shinrikyo cult. Despite government funding and a unique central attraction, the park struggled with a lack of rides and its proximity to unsettling locations, leading to its closure in 2001.
