The agency also warned of potential linear precipitation bands in the Tohoku and Kanto-Koshin regions, which could rapidly increase the risk of flooding and river overflows. Typhoon No. 24 weakened into a tropical depression, but its warm, moist air is fueling an active front expected to stall until around September 10. This could prolong heavy rain, particularly on the Pacific side from western to eastern Japan, heightening landslide risks in areas with softened ground.
