Jamie Lee Curtis to receive inaugural Reiner Champion for Change Award at November gala

Jamie Lee Curtis will receive the inaugural Michele and Rob Reiner Champion for Change Award at the Children’s Institute’s Cape & Gown Gala on November 8, honoring the couple's lifelong work for children and families. Curtis, who shared a decades-long bond with the Reiners, said the event must be a celebration, not a funeral, as they would have wanted. She described the emotional difficulty of discussing them in the past tense just nine months after their deaths. The award was created with guidance from the couple's children and Michele's sister. Curtis, who had her wedding at their home and counts Rob as her daughter's godfather, also spoke about the Reiners at the 2026 Emmy Awards tribute.
