Italy's relay teams qualified for Tokyo's World Athletics Championships

Italy's men's 4x100m relay team and women's 4x400m relay team have qualified for the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. The men's 4x100m team, featuring Desalu, Melluzzo, Patta, and Tortu, finished second in their heat with a time of 38.16 seconds. The women's 4x400m team, composed of Accame, Polinari, Bonora, and Mangione, also secured second place in their heat. Additionally, Alex Schwazer won the 10km race at the Italian championships. The mixed 4x100m relay team won their heat but will not compete in Tokyo as the event debuts in 2026.
