Italy introduces energy bill relief and business support measures

Italy will provide a 90 euro extraordinary bonus for electricity bills in 2026 to social bonus holders, with a 315 million euro spending limit. The government also plans a bonus for households with an ISEE up to 25,000 euros, covering energy purchase costs for the first two months of 2026. Gas auctions with mediated prices between TTF and the Italian market are also introduced. Revenue from selling stored gas will support energy-intensive businesses, including SMEs. These measures aim to ease the energy cost impact on low-income families and boost business competitiveness.
