Italian healthcare workers gain pay raises, emergency room bonuses

Healthcare workers in Italy will receive salary increases averaging 172 euros per month, with emergency room staff eligible for an additional 520 euro bonus. The agreement, signed by four out of six unions, covers over 581,000 national healthcare employees and includes provisions for a four-day work week and legal protection in case of workplace violence. The deal also allocates funds for future negotiations. This contract renewal follows months of negotiations and provides a 7% pay increase, with the government already planning for the next three-year agreement. Two unions, Cgil and Uil, did not sign the agreement.
