Italian 15-year-old faces charges in Malta for school bomb threat and child pornography

An Italian 15-year-old, Flavio Santoiemma, remains detained in Malta facing nine charges, including criminal association and child pornography, after a fake bomb threat to his school. He was arrested in May after allegedly calling Lily of the Valley Secondary School in Mosta, triggering evacuation. Police found racist, pornographic and satanic material on his phone, leading to charges of spreading false information and threats. His defence says online gamers entrapped and blackmailed him into the call. Italy’s embassy has visited him; next hearing is August 19.
