IQM develops barbell codes to reduce quantum error rates and qubit usage

IQM has developed new quantum codes that significantly reduce error rates and qubit requirements. The "barbell codes" cut logical error rates by up to 1,000 times and use up to eight times fewer physical qubits than current methods, addressing a major challenge in quantum computing.
