Inquest reveals details of five-year-old's death in Cornwall road accident

A five-year-old boy, Dexter Chapman, was killed in April 2024 after running onto a busy road in Cornwall while searching for his brothers. He was struck by a car traveling at about 45 mph on the A390 road. During the inquest, it was revealed that Dexter had been playing in the garden when his brothers went to a neighbor's yard. Witnesses noted he looked both ways before crossing but may not have understood the road's dangers. The coroner concluded that Dexter's death was a result of a road traffic collision. Despite attempts to help him, he died at the scene from severe injuries.
