Indonesia hands over proposal for Bali Nine members' transfer to Australia
Indonesia has submitted a draft proposal to Australia regarding the transfer of the remaining Bali Nine members. This proposal outlines conditions for their return, placing the decision in the hands of the Australian government. The five prisoners, arrested in 2005 for heroin smuggling, include Scott Rush, Matthew Norman, Si-Yi Chen, Martin Stephens, and Michael Czugaj. Indonesia's Chief Minister for Law and Human Rights emphasized that the transfer would not equate to a pardon. Australia's Home Affairs Minister acknowledged the proposal as a significant step forward. Discussions are ongoing to address legal issues, and Indonesia is also seeking the repatriation of its prisoners in Australia as part of the negotiations.
