India's housing construction pipeline doubles to $430 billion in 2025
India's housing construction pipeline nearly doubled to $430 billion in 2025 from $235 billion in 2019, driven by strong post-pandemic demand, according to a CREDAI-Anarock report released Friday. Residential projects now account for 85% of total real estate under construction. The report, released at CREDAI's NATCON conference in Kolkata, showed the total real estate pipeline across residential, office, retail, and warehousing reached $503 billion in 2025, up from $94 billion in 2009. Office remained the largest commercial category, while warehousing grew to over $10 billion. Anarock Chairman Anuj Puri noted sector resilience despite the West Asia crisis, with residential sales above Rs 1.3 lakh crore for seven consecutive quarters. CREDAI President Shekhar Patel said the market, estimated at $600 billion today, is on track to reach $1 trillion by 2030.
