India’s AI startups draw larger growth rounds as revenue traction builds
Indian AI startups are attracting larger growth-stage funding rounds as they shift from experimentation to deployment, with investors gaining confidence from real revenue and demand. This marks a significant acceleration in India's AI funding momentum. AI startups now account for over 23 percent of total venture capital deal value in India in 2026, up from 15 percent in 2025. Companies like Sarvam AI, Emergent, and Neysa have raised sizeable rounds, while Ema, Mstack AI, Simplismart, and UnifyApps are seeking $50-80 million each. Global investors increasingly view Indian AI as a mispriced opportunity, citing capital-efficient startups capable of large outcomes. Sixteen AI-focused funds raised $1.87 billion in 2025, and total AI funding reached $1.56 billion across 206 deals through August 20, 2026.
