Indian topics dominate Wikipedia's most-read articles list for 2024

The Wikimedia Foundation has released its list of the most-viewed articles on English Wikipedia for 2024. Notably, three Indian topics made the global top 25: the Indian Premier League (6th), the 2024 Indian general election (10th), and the film Kalki 2898 AD (18th). The Indian Premier League led with over 24.5 million views, while the general election attracted significant interest with 18.1 million views. Kalki 2898 AD, featuring Deepika Padukone, garnered nearly 14.6 million views, reflecting India's strong cultural presence on the platform. Globally, the most-read article was "Deaths in 2024," with over 44.4 million views. Overall, English Wikipedia received more than 76 billion views in the first ten months of the year, highlighting its widespread use.
