Indian Railways to launch new timetable with 136 Vande Bharat trains on January 1

Indian Railways will launch a new timetable on January 1, 2025, introducing 136 Vande Bharat Express trains and other services. The current timetable will remain valid until December 31, 2024. The new schedule marks a shift from the usual release timeline, which typically occurs before June 30 each year. Last year, 64 Vande Bharat trains were introduced, along with 70 additional services. In preparation for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, Indian Railways is enhancing facilities for attendees, including shelter for over 100,000 passengers and around 3,000 special trains. A luxury tent city, Mahakumbh Gram, is also being established.
