India tells Belgium: No sensitive tech for Pakistan

India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told Belgian Defence Minister Theo Francken on Thursday that Indo-Belgian defence ties depend on Belgium avoiding any sensitive technology pact with Pakistan. Francken agreed, stating he has "chosen India without any doubt." Francken assured that during his tenure, there will be "no question of any cooperation with Pakistan," a response similar to Italy's earlier stance. India and Belgium signed a defence framework pact and 10 industry collaboration agreements, including producing Belgian rockets in India. The visit included a CEOs roundtable, with discussions on co-development in cyber security, AI-enabled drones, and weapon systems. Separately, Thales and Kalyani Strategic Systems signed an alliance to produce 70-mm rockets in India, with the first fully assembled unit targeted for early 2027.
