India taxes Chinese, Vietnamese solar glass imports

thehindu.com

India has implemented anti-dumping duties on solar glass imports from China and Vietnam for five years to protect domestic manufacturers. The duties, ranging from $570 to $664 per tonne, were imposed after an investigation found a surge in cheap imports of the glass used in solar panels. The Directorate General of Trade Remedies recommended the duties following a probe into the dumping of the product. The move, effective from December 4, 2024, aims to ensure fair trade and level the playing field for Indian producers, a practice common in international trade.
